MEANINGFUL MEMBERSHIP

Dear Community,

The global pandemic has taken a toll. But when faced with adversity, we’re proud to say that the YMCA of Greater Boston did not shy away. Rather, we stepped up to the challenge in real time and, along with many partners, have been able to provide real support for the community: feeding families and seniors, caring for children of essential workers and connecting people through technology, all to help our communities grow stronger, together.

In the process, our path forward has been made clear. In reimagining what the future of the YMCA of Greater Boston looks like, we know that our mission is to lift up the most vulnerable among us, to nurture the healthy minds and bodies of everyone in our community, and to connect people to each other, so that they can feel like the Y is one place they truly belong.

Today, all of our 13 branches are open and ready to welcome you, however we understand that many of us are still facing challenges. We are here for you! We are innovating to bring you exciting new programs, and doubling down on our commitment to serve you and keep you and your families safe, strong and healthy.

In each of our facilities, we have implemented new and enhanced cleaning protocols, and have created a program to help us all stay safe, called “Safe for You, Safe for Us.” We also have a host of virtual fitness, camp and community programs available to you. And month by month, we will roll out more in-person fitness, sports, education and related programs.

We want you to know your membership at the YMCA of Greater Boston is now more meaningful than ever. I look forward to personally welcoming many of you back, so that together we can build a stronger, healthier you, and a stronger, healthier community at the same time. Because where there is a Y, there’s a way to a better us.

With great excitement,

WELCOME BACK TO THE Y

We have been honored to welcome many of you back into our community branches and it has been great to see our Y’s regain its vibrancy since reopening. You, as our members, are what make our Y community so special.

We want to assure you that the YMCA of Greater Boston is the place where you and your children can play, experience physical activity and connect with others in a fun and safe environment. We are doubling down on our cleaning efforts and continuing to implement our Safe for You, Safe for Us safety protocols.
