At the Y we honor and treasure our older adults and recognize how you play a key role in the vitality of our neighborhoods, networks, and lives. The Y strengthens communities by providing older adults with programs and services designed to keep you healthy, active, and socially connected. We welcome diverse groups of people, ideas, and actions, to create an environment free of racism and inequality.

Enhance Fitness
This 16-week exercise program is ideal for older adults, particularly those with arthritis. This comprehensive class includes cardiovascular fitness, strength training, balance, and flexibility training. Participants typically enjoy an increase in energy, better balance and strength, improved flexibility, and a greater sense of independence! An added bonus is many of our participants create meaningful social connections and report greater overall feelings of happiness.

Fit For Life & Fit For Life Strength
Low Impact is now Fit for Life! This class is designed for anyone looking for a gentle approach to fitness. By incorporating low impact cardio movements and light strength training, we will work together to improve your balance and mobility, all while increasing your overall strength. Fit for Life is a weekly group exercise class included with your membership! Pre-registration is required and opens three days in advance.

Water Fitness
Our Water Fitness classes are designed to keep you healthy and active with little pressure on your joints. We offer 10+ formats of water exercise classes in both the shallow and deep ends of the pool. Water exercise moves your joints through a range of motion with gentle stretching of your muscles. Improve your daily living and build strength by adding our Water Fitness classes to your health routine.

Fitness on Demand
Take your workouts whenever and wherever you like with Fitness On Demand! Enjoy the benefits of your YMCA membership with our health and wellness platform, accessible through the YMCA of Greater Boston App. Access LesMills classes and workouts with your favorite YMCA instructors, included with your membership. Your good health is in your hands!

BONUS! Healthy Habits participants and alumni also have access to our exciting new digital resource center - Healthy Habits Hub! The Hub provides the full curriculum, recipes, instructor blogs, reading material for additional support, and access to our private Facebook group, and much more!

Diabetes Prevention Program
This program offers small group classes that meet for 16 sessions over the course of a year. Classes are led by a trained lifestyle coach, and you’ll work together with your group to learn strategies to help prevent the disease.
