FREE ADULT ENGLISH PROGRAM - ILC WOBURN
For over 25 years, the YMCA International Learning Center (ILC) in Woburn has been aiding immigrants in learning English. Through free ESOL classes, students gain the confidence and skills to enhance their lives, securing better employment, increasing community involvement, and growing their awareness of American culture. The Adult English program is tailored for language learners at the beginner to high-intermediate levels, with the goal of acquiring language proficiency and skills essential for 21st-century employment opportunities.
ESOL Classes
ESOL classes run in the morning and evening for 32 weeks. From September – June.
- Morning Classes: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday 9:00am-12:00pm.
- Evening Classes: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 6:30pm-9:00pm

Mass Step: Culinary Arts Program (12 weeks) ServSafe Certification
This free professional workforce ESOL culinary preparation program combines English learning with job training. It includes hands-on culinary training by a professional chef, English and civics lessons for culinary and workplace success, math related cooking skills, and digital literacy proficiency. Students receive career preparation and job search support including resume building, cover letter writing and interview practice. All these elements help students gain the skills and confidence they need for a successful career in culinary arts.
- Certifications: ServSafe Food Handler; Allergen Awareness; Choke Saver and ServSafe Workplace
- Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm
- Classes start in September and March
- Requirements: High beginner English skills and an interest in culinary arts.
