When you are involved with the Y, you help bring about lasting personal and social change. Whether you want to nurture the potential of children, improve your family’s health, or give back to your neighbors, your involvement with a charitable organization like the Y will positively impact your community. When there’s a Y, there’s a way for you to make a difference.
Become a Volunteer
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:
Program Volunteers: Our volunteers nurture the potential of thousands of kids, teens and adults year-round. They teach, mentor, guide and support youth from their first few weeks of life through their first steps into adulthood. Volunteers assist as youth sports coaches, member services volunteers or through clubs, classes and events.
Volunteers for Credit: The YMCA provides opportunities for students who need to participate in school-required volunteer services.
Fundraising Volunteers: Volunteers help the YMCA listen and respond to our region’s most critical social needs. They help inspire compassion and involvement in our community through fundraising for the annual campaign, sharing personal testimonials, joining Togetherhood and encouraging others to support the Y.
CORPORATE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Business professionals, industry leaders, retired individuals, college students, and many others share their time, energy, and talent with YMCA Training, Inc. Help individuals learn the skills they need to gain career-building employment that will benefit themselves and their families. Many of our volunteer opportunities are done over the phone or via email, and other opportunities take place here in our offices. We are conveniently located in downtown Boston (18 Tremont Street, Suite 400, Boston, MA 02108), near State Street and Park Street subway stations.
Customer Service Calls: Make calls from the convenience of your home or office. You will follow scripts we provide and offer feedback, to help our participants gain customer service skills over the phone.
Interview Practice: Help participants practice interviews here at YMCA Training, Inc. or by phone, as needed.
Resumes, Cover Letters and Job Search: Review participants’ resumes and cover letters and help find appropriate job postings, either during mornings at YMCA Training, Inc. or via email.
Industry Speakers: Speak to a group of participants at YMCA Training, Inc. about your field and its job outlook.
Corporate Opportunities: Volunteer with YMCA Training, Inc. as a group with others in your company to help participants with interview practice, “elevator pitches” and conversation about your industry.
