Sarah’s Mid-Morning “green that is actually a more appetizing purple” Smoothie

Sarah’s Mid-Morning “green that is actually a more appetizing purple” Smoothie

Ingredients

Dry

  • 1/3 cup frozen avocado chunks (many stores now carry this in the frozen section)
  • 1 cup frozen berries (I use organic wild blueberries and organic raspberries)
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh/loose - NOT frozen)

Wet

  • 1 ¼ cup almond milk (I use the sweetened version – but that’s it for sugar in this!)

Instructions

  • You’ll need a good quality blender for this one – I LOVE my Ninja mini!
  • *When I first started with this drink, I also added 1 Tbsp. maple syrup and the juice from ¼ lemon squeezed into the blender. These tasted great, but the lemon ended up being too acidic for me, and I wanted to cut down the sugar, so I gradually cut that down until I eliminated it.
  • Blend until completely smooth. Drink immediately, as I’ve noticed that the pretty purple color soon turns to brown, and it tastes the best when it is still a frozen concoction.
