Administrative Support Instructor

YMCA Training, Inc., a nationally recognized, non-profit job training and employment program, is seeking a full-time Administrative Support Instructor to provide office skills training and employment assistance to help low-income and immigrant adults gain employment in administrative support positions.

Job Duties:

  • Effectively teach Administrative Support curriculum, including planning and curriculum development
  • Teach basic Windows, Word, email, internet, and customer service using and modifying existing curriculum
  • Co-facilitate operation of simulated business office training
  • Assist in resume writing
  • Match and support trainees in appropriate internships
  • Provide placement assistance to help graduates gain employment
  • Maintain existing relationships with industry representatives
  • Provide additional support and counseling to 5-8 trainees per cycle

Requirements:

  • Significant successful experience teaching or training adult learners required
  • 3+ years of consecutive work experience in administrative support required
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required, additional software/technical skills a strong plus
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team player mentality – sense of humor and compassion are a strong plus!
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse, multi-cultural population and a cohesive, dedicated staff
  • Bachelor's Degree required

 

Salary:   $40,000
