Early Education & Care
We believe that all children deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. We are strengthening the foundations of community by ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive in a safe, caring environment that supports child and family success. The YMCA invites you and your child to join our circle of excellence where your child will have the opportunity to grow character values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behavior, better health and educational achievement. We offer a variety of programs that deliver exciting hands-on activities that will stimulate your child’s mind and help them fully develop as a person. We design all of our programs to enrich children’s lives and celebrate who they are as individuals.
We welcome families at all of our Y program sites and encourage you to visit. We want your suggestions, and we are interested in hearing your observations about how your child is doing. Holidays, parties, family nights, special programs, field trips, and fundraisers are all occasions for families to volunteer and participate. Our Parent Advisory Boards offer additional opportunities for you to become more involved in the Y community.
All YMCA early education and out-of-school time program staff are trained and experienced working with children. Staff are trained and certified in First Aid and CPR, as well as emergency procedures. In addition, their qualifications meet or exceed state standards set and enforced by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Staff members are chosen for their experience, education, energy, enthusiasm, and sensitivity to the needs of children.
Child Protection Policy
The safety and protection of the children we serve are paramount to us. We know parents, guardians and the community-at-large place their trust in the Y to do everything that we can to ensure that the children in our care are safe. While we cannot eliminate all threats, we are committed to minimize them as much as we can.
The YMCA of Greater Boston reviews all prospective members and guests against the Massachusetts Registry of Sex Offenders and prohibits membership or access to our Y’s for individuals who are classified as offenders.
