Support the Annual Campaign - Strengthen Your Community

Your support is necessary to fund many of the Y programs and services that families that are in need use every day. Together we can ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn grow and thrive in a YMCA program.

Your contribution makes a difference!

The Waltham YMCA is a charity. 100% of your dollars donated stay here in Waltham and go directly to individuals to participate at our YMCA through membership, childcare, afterschool care, camp and sports for all ages. Your gift to the Waltham YMCA will ensure access and opportunity to an active enriching YMCA community.

With the funds raised from last year's campaign we were able to distribute over $450,000 in financial aid to almost 600 members and program participants in our community.  The YMCA awarded over $383,000 in scholarships and subsidies to low income families for summer camp and childcare, and $67,000 in subsidies were provided to adults, seniors and families in the community who could not otherwise afford memberships.

For over 40 years the Waltham YMCA has served children, families, senior citizens and other individuals in our community.  The Y’s mission to build “strong families” is not just a slogan.  It’s a tradition and a fact of life, and we live it each and every day.   The Y is much more than a “swim and gym” provider.  We invest in an improved quality of life by giving all citizens the opportunity to become active, healthy and engaged participants in their communities.

Annual Fund

With your contribution to our annual fund, the Reach Out campaign, we are able to open our programs to children, youth and adults regardless of financial ability.  Every dollar raised from this local campaign directly benefits the Waltham YMCA. With your support hundreds of children will have the opportunity to participate in sports; leadership; camping and youth development programs while gaining new skills in a safe environment with the positive influence of adult and peer role models.

Your support for Reach Out shows your commitment to our YMCA’s mission and work of keeping families strong in our community.  To continue this work, we need your support now, more than ever before.  The need grows each year and Reach Out helps even the playing field by funding scholarships so all can attend.

How your contribution positively affects people's lives:

  • We helped 200 children afford summer camp with over $19,800 in financial assistance.
  • We assisted 100 participants in programs with over $2000 in financial assistance.
  • We served 72 campers from homeless shelters this past summer
  • Over 50 children were financially helped for our childcare and afterschool programs with almost $53,000 in scholarships.
  • Over 800 kids participated in swim lessons this past summer.
  • More than 4000 kids and adults participated in instructional programs this summer, in aquatics, sports and health & wellness.
  • $67,000 in funds were used in assisting over 280 Membership For All participants.

While programs may develop in one neighborhood, the strength of the Y is that we leverage great programs and take those to other communities that then benefit. Again, at the Y, no child, family or adult is turned away due to an inability to pay full fees. We recognize that for communities to succeed, everyone must be given the opportunity to be healthy confident, connected and secure. We can only make that promise through the support of our donors to the Y’s Annual Fund.
